Delicious recipe of Taka tak

Taka Tak is a popular Pakistani and Indian dish made with a combination of different meats and spices. Here is a recipe to make Taka Tak at home:

Ingredients:

  • 500g mutton or beef (lamb is traditional)
  • 1 large onion, finely chopped
  • 4 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 inch piece of ginger, grated
  • 2-3 green chilies, chopped
  • 2 tomatoes, chopped
  • 1 tsp cumin powder
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 1 tsp red chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp garam masala powder
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh coriander leaves, chopped for garnish
  • Lemon wedges for serving

Instructions:

  1. Cut the mutton or beef into small pieces and set aside.

  2. Heat oil in a heavy-bottomed pan or wok over medium-high heat.

  3. Add chopped onions and cook until they turn golden brown.

  4. Add minced garlic, grated ginger, and chopped green chilies to the pan and sauté for a few minutes until fragrant.

  5. Add chopped tomatoes and cook until they become soft.

  6. Add cumin powder, coriander powder, red chili powder, turmeric powder, garam masala powder, and salt. Mix well and cook for 2-3 minutes.

  7. Add the meat to the pan and cook for 10-15 minutes or until the meat is browned and cooked through.

  8. Using two spatulas, chop and shred the meat into small pieces while it's still in the pan. This technique is what gives Taka Tak its unique texture.

  9. Cook the meat for another 5-10 minutes until it's well cooked and slightly crispy.

  10. Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and serve hot with lemon wedges.

Enjoy your delicious Taka Tak!
