Ingredients:
- 500g minced beef or lamb
- 1 cup split Bengal gram (chana dal), washed and soaked for 2-3 hours
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2-3 green chilies, chopped
- 1 tbsp ginger paste
- 1 tbsp garlic paste
- 1 tsp cumin powder
- 1 tsp coriander powder
- 1 tsp garam masala powder
- 1 tsp red chili powder
- Salt, to taste
- Oil, for frying
Instructions:
In a large pot, cook the soaked chana dal with enough water until it becomes soft and tender. Drain any excess water and let it cool.
In a mixing bowl, combine the minced meat, onion, green chilies, ginger paste, garlic paste, cumin powder, coriander powder, garam masala powder, red chili powder, and salt. Mix well.
Add the cooked chana dal to the mixture and knead well to combine all the ingredients together.
Form small patties or balls out of the mixture and flatten them slightly.
Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Once the oil is hot, add the patties to the pan and fry until they turn golden brown on both sides.
Serve hot with mint chutney or ketchup.
